The Playbook for Pioneers: Aggregating Narrow Advice

Ben Gervais, Founder

If you want to do something that has never been done before, there will not be clear instructions, guidance, or advice on exactly how to achieve it. You have to tune out what 99% of people are saying, aggregate the best narrow advice, and rely on your own intuition.

Building 33med requires standing at the intersection of AI software and precision hardware manufacturing. My background is not a standard, single-track corporate career. Over the past 17 years, I have built web apps, decentralized identity systems, and automated machine learning workflows.

When you are attempting a moonshot, like combining ultrafast pulsed lasers with 3D-printed titanium vertebrae, average advice is actively dangerous.

You cannot ask a single expert how to build an unprecedented system. Instead, you extract highly specific, tactical wisdom from world-class individuals across entirely different domains, like advanced robotics, generative AI, and mechanical engineering, and stitch those pieces together.

We are positioned at the absolute center of the global hardware supply chain, surrounded by the top-tier talent required to build this machine.

The path is unprecedented, but the mission is clear.
